Same topic; different language. And what a difference it makes. Both China and America announced their carbon emission targets for 2020 yesterday, with China promising a 40-45% cut and America a 17% cut. Whereas China’s only English newspaper, the China Daily, commended both on the positive steps these major carbon emitters are making, a Chinese newspaper (the New Beijing Gazette) headlines with informing us that the Americans are being “too petty” (“太小气”).
